Re: New Video; Drivers View Rt 67 Melbourne Uni to Carnegie Part 2

Bill,

I’m very pleased that the video brought back happy memories and took you back in time. I loved the story about being forgotten at the shops. I hate to think of what the educated know-everything authorities would do to such a forgetful mother and baby today.

I want to do more Driver’s View videos in Melbourne over Christmas. Does anyone have a favourite line? I’ll try to get a driver to put the camera in the cab like I did on the 64 and 67.

Regards,

Richard

I note now there’s a stop at Scott St where I lived in 1934 – it used to be a 5 penny pink ticket to the city. The fairway was certainly working well and the treed stretch between St Kilda Junction and Brighton Rd was completely new to me. And so much traffic. I admired the dexterity of some of the car drivers in their parking along Glenhuntly Rd. I was once left there, in pram, outside a shop when my mother forgot about me --- a neighbor later queried, “where’s Billie?” – panic stations – be he was OK, somebody had given him a banana. A lot of memories! Thanks.
