Hi Mal,
Was that round fitting on the dash of No 38
at the left of the headlight & near the ‘Tolleys TST Brandy’ advert something to do with a trolley retriever ?
Noel Reed.
[Now at another location near Hornsby but without my photo records].

Subject: [TramsDownUnder] Perth 38 - a classic Brill bogie saloon [1 Attachment]
Perth tram No 38 was built by the J G Brill Co in 1902 for the
Kalgoorlie Electric Tramways.
It originally had 2 motor Brill 27E trucks but they were apparently
upgraded to 4 motors soon after delivery to allow towing of multiple
trailers.
These were the first 4 motor passenger trams in Australia.
In 1903 this car was sold the Perth and it was still running in 1952
when Noel Reed called in.
Mal Rowe - guessing the location is near the carbarn at East Perth (and
the WACA)
