The 'other' tram operator in Melbourne in the SW6 period (the Victorian Railways) built three 'luxury cars' to the SW6 design, with the same seat layout and tip-over seats.

They very rapidly re-located the seats against the car sides to maximise the war time crush load which they got when two or three trams picked up their load from the trains at St Kilda railway station.

Pic attached showing the VR layout and the original layout as restored when the MMTB took the trams over.
