All these Geelong pics inspired me to search my favourite picture
archive (the SLV) for Geelong.
Nearly 1300 images and several hours later I have something for you.

Charles Pratt was a WW1 aviator who used his skill and a biplane to run
an aerial photography business "Airspy" for over 30 years - then he left
his plates to the SLV.
In May 1936 he made the attached pic of the 'Head of the River' rowing
race on the Barwon at Geelong - there are several pics in the SLV archive.
This one is close to the end of the race and the SEC have lined up 8
trams - 7 of them Pengelleys - to take the spectators home.
