I called past late this afternoon and took a few pics, including one up the other end - near Millswyn St.

A couple of things worth noting:
1. The crossover seems to have been filled with hot mix rather than crushed rock/concrete. My guess is that this is to avoid fragments getting ito the point mechanism.
2. At the left of the pic, you will se that the tramway is at a lower level than the roadway. This is the location of a platform stop, so the tracks have been lowered to minimise the platform height.

Mal Rowe - who was a bit puzzled about the low track level at first.
