Further to haulage on light rail lines , what type of coupling is used on Melbourne’s R10 to push or pull a disabled tram --

a. On paved street track. b. On ballasted PRW track.

I understand that on PRW track, R10 is driven on the ballast without rail guidance.

Can the prominent front bumper on R10 be used to push any class of tram without body damage ?

I have seen pictures of what appeared to be the Coleman Rail vehicle working on the 1600mm gauge south of Noarlunga SA. Was the one in SA the same vehicle as that on the Melbourne 1435mm gauge light rail lines ?

One must presume that the rail wheels on RTL1, now used in Queensland are gauge adjustable? In Victoria, where there were, or are, more than one if them, they operate only on the 5 ft 3 inch gauge, and can haul fairly decent three or four wagon loads of timber over fairly short distances.

Coleman rail have a similar setup, but with a less complex locomotive, that they used in the re-construction of the St Kilda and Port Melbourne light rail lines a few years back.
