The thread about GE and Brisbane quickly moved interstate and several
decades on ... to PC controllers.

My library searching today reminded me of the rather primitive trams
that Brisbane started with when they fitted GE equipment to old horse
cars, as well as building new trams.

Here's perhaps the most extreme example.

This little 6 bench ex-horse car looks far too light to sit on a Peckham
electric truck and the platforms must have groaned under the weight of
the controllers. At least the trolley-bridge spread the strain on the
roof from the trolleybase.
