RE: Parts of Powerhouse Museum may stay in CBD | Gold Coast Bulletin OT

Having two museums leaves the vexing question of do you have mirrored
themes in both, or completely different themes in each ? That is,
should all the, say, transport exhibits be at one location, or split
up between the two?

I don’t think it is such a bad idea if there is to be another
‘technology’ museum in Western Sydney.

There are a great many potential exhibits stored ‘off site’ at
Castle Hill and these can only be seen on rare occasions.

The Powerhouse building at Ultimo is a priceless exhibit itself as it
was the major power source for tramways in Sydney.

It sounds like the worst option - 2 sites miles apart to see it all.

I was there last year and from memory the old trains were on the first
floor (up). It must have been a job getting them up there and a
headache if they want to take them away.
