He's right - they have steps to the rear of the bus, so they are only
'low entrance' and not 'low floor'.

Nearly every diesel bus in Sydney is low entry, not low floor. (Actually
I don't recall having ever seen a true low floor bus in Sydney).

Your photos show the step that makes them only 'low entry' and not 'low
floor' :-)

I made a point of noting this 'feature' on my recent visit to Wellington
(to ride the Trolley's before they go!)

True low floor diesel (and trolley buses) exist. They just don't seem to
be used all that often in Australia/New Zealand.

Sydney has gone one worse - the VST chassis has a step at the rear door
and STILL has the step up into the rear section. Yet the operator
insists on calling them low floor buses. The VST came after years of
acquiring buses with NO step at the rear door. We went went backwards in
Sydney. (And the VSTs were acquired as lease pool buses by TfNSW so all
the 'private' operators have em too now.)

At least now I'm used to the step at the rear door and don't nearly trip
out of the bus instead of stepping out.
