Did the inter car jumpers on the old Melbourne trains carry the full 1500
volts for panto raise/lower and the several steps (notches) of MU control
and the reversers ?
Would there have also been full line voltage on the inter car jumpers for
the carriage lighting on trailer cars ?

Gday Noel
Whrn the compressor switch was closed in the front cab
it started all the compressors on the train,
There was a mu panto raise jumper
There was no emerg lighting, only a Kero tail light
Cheers, Mick

Hello Mick,
How were the other pantographs of the train raised if there was no power
for MU 'panto raise' connections between carriages ?
What about emergency lighting in event of a OHW power failure between
stations at night ?
