RE: The Circle Lines
  Noel Reed

Many years ago when Melbourne's Inner Circle line was still electrified I
was able to photograph 'SW6' tram 884 on the St Georges Road level
crossing over the Inner Circle railway which still had the 'tramway square'
arrangements for a 600 volt DC tramway to cross a 1500 volt DC railway.

On an earlier occasion while holidaying with grandparents at Murrumbeena, I
walked along the route of the Outer Circle railway between Hughesdale and
the then newly opened extension of the Ashburton line at Alamein. While at
East Malvern, I photographed a single ABM electric carriage arriving from
Glen Waverley which was then a single track line. I travelled to Glen
Waverley and back to East Malvern in the ABM.

Does anyone on TDU know of any books on the subject and if so are they still
available and from whom?

I have not marked this as OT as the line was electrified.
