Re: Safety vests and the like

Somewhere buried in my collection I have a (Leunig?) cartoon showing a busy
street: every building, every vehicle, every rubbish bin and some
pedestrians were signed 'Hazchem'.

The utmost stupidity was the bakery attendant at Manchester Piccadilly (UK):
wearing an orange safety vest behind the display counter.

Why do staff wear them while parading on railway platforms, not on running
lines at all. That harks back to my 'intimidation' thread of yesterday.

The driver's 16 yo son came home grinning from ear to ear: 'Dad, I just had
my first proper sex'.
Father, trying to be cool: 'Well son, I hope that you were wearing
protection'.
'Sure thing dad, I was wearing your orange safety vest'.

Now for HRH Queen Elizabeth II to wear one when inspecting pass-out parades.
