I've just heard on the radio that the Queensland Government is planning to buy two vessels similar to the Brisbane Citycats to operate between Eagle Street Pier and a new wharf to be built at Southport. Apparently Campbell Newman is appalled at the lack of a connection between Brisbane and the under construction Gold Coast Light Rail. I think he said that the Citycats were the best option in light of previous budget blowouts.

Does anyone know anything more about this?
