The Orpheum Theatre (cinema) was opposite the northern bridge approach just before Pacific Highway became Bradfield Highway over the bridge.to the city.

The Orpheum Theatre would have been just out of the RHS of this picture. The frontages of some of the leased premises beneath the arches can also be seen.

My old high school from 1943 to 1947, North Sydney Technical High School was located opposite North Sydney Station. The school did not have an assembly hall as was common in those days. On special occasions each year such as 'Empire Day' the school rented the Orpheum Theatre for the speeches, displays etc.

I remember seeing the Orpheum Theatre from a passing tram crosiing that Bridge in Mid June 1958.That was my only time I ever riode a North Sydney Tram.THat was to Taronga Park Zoo.
