Hi all,

I have been given permission to forward the attached photos, postcards etc,
to TDU on the basis of the interest factor amongst other things.

Cheers

Bob in Perth

Greetings all,
Thanks for your several positive response to my first
series of old postcards featuring Melbourne cable trams, circulated on 9th
November. Since then I've hunted out a few more and scanned/enhanced the
images.

Note in the first one attached, a bogie saloon trailer behind its
'dummy' in Elizabeth Street. I recall that the late Neville Govett, an
authority on Melbourne's cable tram system, referred to these as 'Brunswick
Bogies', since they were used almost exclusively on the Brunswick line.
(Many years ago I took Neville to view a surviving 'Brunswick Bogie' trailer
body on private property on the Mornington Peninsula - maybe it's still
there).

More to follow.
