VANDALS have destroyed Myki machines, smashed barriers and scrawled graffiti at a major train station.

North Melbourne station was closed overnight after the
vandals destroyed Myki machines and smashed barriers during the wave of
destruction at the revamped $40 million station.Other damage included mass amounts of graffiti with some derogatory slogans targeting police.Police said the vandals caused extensive damage across all platforms. It
is believed the vandals entered the station sometime before 4.30am,
smashing glass panels throughout and spraying a large amount of graffiti
on walls and other surfaces.Police initially closed down the entire station amid concerns remnants of glass panels could fall onto platforms. The station has since been partially re-opened but commuters are unable to use the main entrance. Those catching trains from the station are asked to use the old concourse entrance on Dynon Road.A police spokeswoman said an 18-year-old Brunswick West man and a 23-year-old Northcote woman were arrested at the scene.Transit Police have been notified of the incident and will examine CCTV footage taken from the scene. It comes less than two days after a man had his hand severed by a train while running from police at the same station..The
man alighted from an Upfield-bound train at North Melbourne but tried
to re-board the moving train when he saw police walking towards him.He then fell on the tracks, with the train severing part of his arm.The
man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital
in a conscious and stable condition after paramedics worked on him at
the scene.Anyone with information about the latest incident is
