Re: Biassed moderators [Was: Time for everyone to move on: attention please moderators]

I believe the rules of TDU should clearly state that persons moderated will be advised (off list) by the moderator(s). This has to be fair to all because justice should both be done and appear to be done. But the moderator(s) should have the final say.

I agree that it is not good to focus on the shortcomings of people (we all have some?) so why not focus on achievement?

Within our ranks we have many people with demonstrated achievements in both the world of trams and elsewhere. So let's hear some of them.

To start with, it would be good to hear Graham's story of 40 years of achievement. Ian is a renowned tramway raconteur. And some of the more senior members (e.g. Bill and Noel) clearly have some wonderful stories still to be told.

We CAN focus on the human side of trams and being a tram enthusiast without resorting to the crap, dross and sniping that has featured on TDU in recent times.

However, what is considered crap to one person could be extremely interesting to another.

And for those who may not be familiar with the Australian vernacular:

crap: rubbish or nonsense
dross: rubbish or foreign manner (as in "off topic"?)
snipe: to make a critical attack on an individual
