A Random Photo 8 June
  Jones, Richard

G'day all.

More browsing came up with some photos from a SPER tour to which operated on 14 November, 1982, to unusual places on Sydney's Metropolitan Goods Lines, not normally visited by passenger trains.

This is Ted Gay's territory. 4 car single deck intercity set U10 is seen here at the Catherine Street overbridge at Balmain Road Junction. Lilyfield trams terminated on the road bridge until November 1958 and the present Light Rail line now terminates under the bridge. With a large amount of good luck, the SLR may run where the train now stands.

U10 is again seen near the Mungo Scott flour mill at Lewisham, where the Rozelle goods line passed beneath the six track main suburban lines.

The Single Deck Interurban sets are now no more, as is the Rozelle freight line and the wires, where they still exist, have been de-energised.

Regards

Dick in sunny Sydney
