I think one of the growth industries of 2010 will be professional counselling services for tram enthusiasts who turn to drink, substances or other avenues to cope with their depression.

The doom and gloom being preached among our enthusiast fraternity is a sign of frustration and hopelessness. I know there are some of us who just can't cope. It is really sad. After all trams is our hobby? And aren't hobbies meant to be a source of leisure time enjoyment?

Why are we subjecting ourselves to all this negative stuff? Why can't we just walk away from it all and look at the areas of our hobby that provide fulfilment and enjoyment?

We each only have one life; we don't we, as tram enthusiasts, aim to make the best of it? All this doom and gloom and negativism must have an impact on the people around us?

At the same time, of course, surely we need to be empathetic with our brothers who may be losing their way and do what we can, collectively, to help them get back on (tram) track?

Food for thought?
