Quite often one takes a photograph because one is there with some railway
item(s) in the viewfinder and many years later it becomes very significant.

The consist of the train I travelled in was motor 102, trailer 302 and 1st
car 303 and the photograph was taken about four hours before departure.

The trailer and 1st car came off at Crystal Brook and my guess is that the
van in the photograph was not used due to nil loading.

The train departed Port Pirie four and a half minutes early and after one
and a half minutes for passenger requirements and three and a half minutes
shunting departed Crystal Brook on time at 5:12 pm. Arrival at Gladstone
was seven minutes late at 5:49.

Re the truck question, I believe the trucks were standard as used under
Brill Model 75 rail cars.
