An interesting report from the ABC (Australia) re peak oil (see below). In relation to Perth, I wonder what routes would have
sufficient demand, and sufficient potential demand in three years time if petrol prices are doubled from their existing levels, to
justify a tram operation. Less oil - use electricity! Maybe solar and wind could take up some of the gap given the WA climate -
but WA has massive coal reserves surely?

And perhaps those in the UK could think along the same lines - what bus routes in your area are very heavily patronized and should
be converted to tram? Would your local newspaper be interested in this?
