Gday Noel / All

AFAIK, the Cooma line had 80 LB rails, good for a 20 ton axle load
but 18T was more common on 80 LB.
The Garratts had a 16 ton axle load.

Cheers, Mick.

Back in the 50s the line to Cooma carried a huge amount of freight especially earth moving machinery and heavy electrical equipment for the Snowy Mountins hydro electric project. Those old bridges south of Queanbeyan must have been up to the task.
