The Point Ormond line was built to take the P&MTT's passengers to the
bayside.
After conversion of the cable system to electric it became a shuttle
service operated by one man trams and was closed in 1960.
The attached pic is one of the "Airspy" series from the State Library of
Victoria collection and probably dates from around 1930. An X1 is at
the terminus - I have inserted a full res view in the bottom corner.

Two X1s survive - one at Bylands and the other on the Auckland
Waterfront Tramway.
Another two have gone to the Walhalla Goldfields Railway to be converted
into 760mm gauge railcars.
The latter three owe their survival to Len Millar's 'love affair' with
the X1 class.
