 Similarly, a recent incident in Sydney where an fixed consist 8 car
Waratah train set smashed into buffers at speed at Richmond has, I
believe, resulted in the whole set being written off. Compression
damage was cited as the cause. I wonder if things might have been
different if two 4-cars sets were involved, or less rigid coupling was
used?
