Responding to Tony's sentiment <I wonder if I'm the only one here who has
experienced exactly this episode on the same model Hobart trolleybus! The
conductor very quickly got the poles back on the lines.>...

Taking it that the last of Australia's trolley bus systems closed about 40
years ago, the number of riders who shared Tony's experience AND are TDU
members/lurkers might by now down to anyone's guess.

Whatever, it's more likely that it was the driver who reset the poles on
Tony's memorable trip. As far as I know, Hobart trolley buses were operated
by the driver alone.
