I fear these trams are being sent out of the frying pan into the fire.
After the Brisbane closure many FM trams were gifted to well meaning
organisations and individuals who were unable to look after them properly.
There were few left only ten years later. The canvas roofs developed leaks
and interiors were ruined, vandals destroyed some of them. Two Phoenix cars
at a children's holiday camp were damaged by vandals who gained access to
the locked trams via the floor hatches..I know where there is one good FM
in northern NSW no 499 for sale for $30,000, it has been kept under cover.
