I suspect that Toronto is pretty good at 'working around' works - helkped by their extansive networking through multiple curves at junctions.

Also, note that Melbourne di a lot of preparatory work before actually putting in the buses.
If you look at the map at: https://tdu.to/i/52243 the pieces in green were pre-closure works and the pieces in yellow were put in during the bustitution period.
