Yes, I've already noticed how Pakenham trains are stopping all stations inward of Dandenong when they should be expressing much of this section into the city and leaving it to the following or preceding stopping trains to connect at Dandenong.

Huge numbers of Carnegie-Oakleigh passengers use these trains meaning they are over crowded whereas if there were some short distance trains say Oakleigh and the Pakenhams didn't stop say Caulfield to Oakleigh there would be a better spread of passengers and seats. Of course the loss of around 25 seats per carriage didn't help. Oakleigh locals could fit in 2 or 3 peak hour returns into the bargain.
