Buses guided by following lines (or more reliably, wires buried in the
road surface) are not a new idea. It's been tried/proposed many times
over many years.

I believe at on point, buried wire guidance was proposed for Brisbane's
busways.

But it does seem no bus operator wants the expense of buses with remote
controlled power steering - all operating guided buses appear to be
simple mechanical follower-wheel systems - the O-Bahn concept.
