The Dunlop tyres sign was for the motor garage which was out of the picture
on the left side.
Note at the right side, the old style level crossing signal with flashing
lights at the top ends of the [X] and the signal cable bridge across the
highway. Buried cable was not used at that time.

The power pole seen between 948 and 393 carried the 3 phase AC power supply
to the original SPER substation.
