Bendigo 22
  Mal Rowe

Bendigo's No 22 was the only tram of its type in Bendigo.

It started out being built for the Fitzroy, Northcote and Preston
Tramways Trust in 1920, but was finished by the MMTB when they took over.

The design was based on the P&MTT trams of the era.  With high sills and
large overhang the design was not popular.

The MMTB supplied their 153 to Bendigo in 1936 where it was numbered
22.  They sent one to Ballarat at the same time. Neither city took any more.

The tram was scrapped in 1956, but the body has been recovered by the
Bendigo Tramways and is stored at the gasworks depot.
