Re: IWLR trams shift to Pitt St in Central Station revamp

It is only proposed to be a 200 room hotel, so the patronage turn
over of taxis is not going to be high.  Even if the tram frequency
ramped up to five minutes, there is hardly likely to be congestion
between the two modes if taxis were allowed to share the tram ramps
for access.

But this might result in the loss of a few staff car parking spaces
on the colonnade. Let's guess where the priorities lay?

Brian.

Good Idea. Sell the Opera House and replace it with a decent tram
depot!

G'day all, Not happy Jan ! This stupid State Gov will sell the Opera
House for the land if they could make a buck !
What's next ! This is a stupid idea ! Especially moving the L1
terminus from Central to Pitt St.
Now I don't mind those towers in Lee St, but for heaven's sake leave
the Heritage building alone !
Next thing you know they'll want to fill in Darling Harbour so they
can put up more ugly glass monstrosities !
Fair Dinkum !
Regards,
Tim, totally P***ed off in Sydney.
