RE: Art trams - the Preston car

Hi all,
Further to my last – a really nice photo, and the tram looks great. BUT, the blue scrawl across the front and side detracts from the work.
I suspect it is graffiti as the location of it over the top of the tram fleet number seems to point in that direction, and the I dot who put it there must be relishing his new found fame.

Personally, the Singapore treatment would be a good resolution for the idiocy of these people.

The 2017 Art Trams for the Melbourne Festival are gradually coming on the road.
Second pic yesterday was 2007 - the work of Bushra Hasan.

It's a joyful celebration of the decorative style used on many public transport vehicles in the Indian sub-continent - and rather reminiscent of the "W11 - Karachi tram" of 2006. That tram (aka Z1 81) is now at Melbourne Tram Museum at Hawthorn.

It's also another example of the Melbourne - Kolkata coperation of the Tramjatra project.
