Hi Bramley

Smaller pieces are easier to handle, and workers are legally limited by OH&S laws from manually handling items heavier than 20kg. It’s why cement, sand and gravel etc come in 20kg bags these days. With all the obsessive and repetitive lectures about safe lifting techniques and load limits I got when on the job - back pain and injuries were the largest proportion of workers’ comp claims - I’d say these guys would have been indoctrinated like that and have safety instructions enforcing correct handling of heavy items.
