On your next re-enactment day you can re-enact the 18 second headways on the George St line. Just let me know in advance and I'll drive via Menai!

The only thing is that you'd also need two turning loops and a second track to keep up the headway and/or there may not be enough trams in the fleet!

The Sydney Tramway Museum was restricted by the RTA to not less than 5 minutes between crossings and a certain number (which I do not recall) per day (or week). The roads people could certainly have a good stab at such restrictions on a mainline railway crossing if they thought road traffic was being unduly affected.
Admittedly the Tram Museum doesn't have the clout of a mainline railway operation, but the idea is there.
