Re: Extra tram services to help ease crowding on Sydney''s inner west light rail

Last time I used the line was last Thursday, mid afternoon, Taverners hill to Haymarket and return. The frequency looked like ~7-10 minutes, with 10 cars in service, 2 in the shed at Ultimo. Loading was good in both directions, with the outbound trip picking up school students at Glebe, Jubilee Park and Leichhardt North, which meant the ticket snappers were about, as usual, at that time. If they run any more services during peaks than that they’ll have no spare cars.

So it seems they’re already running more services than announced here. It really doesn’t surprise me that TfNSW doesn’t know what’s going on. I’ve had a few other things demanding my attention lately but if I get a chance I’ll have a closer look at how it’s running, including peak services. I usually avoid these because they’re packed, and I see no reason to contribute to the crush if I don’t need to.

Also of interest, 2120 and 2121 are without AOA at the moment.
