JetGo uses Essendon for one and they're the one serving Illawarra, which actually I just noted is coded Wollongong (WOL) in the aviation lexicon. Probably the fees are less than for Tullamarine, though in using Essendon they kill the opportunity for transfers with other major airlines' flights. Essendon is only useful if your journey starts and ends in Melbourne.

Re Sydney airport traffic, that affects buses too - the article doesn't mention that either. The airport has put in some bus lanes here and there but not enough.

Tullamarine and Avalon are the main ones and both are fairly poorly served by public transport. Yes I know the 901 bus runs every 15' during the weekday days but the terminus is a route march from the terminal unlike the taxi dropoff points which are practically at the door of your aircraft.
