I friend holidaying on the Gold Coast observed that the monorail track has been partly removed. He also advises that the cars have been removed but the destination is unknown. SeaWorld, not too far away to the north, uses similar monorail technology so perhaps they have acquired them for spares.

The first photo shows where the track had entered the casino while the second photo shows the gap just on the casino side of the Gold Coast highway.
