Which is why I am starting to compare last year's claims of a deal to retrofit 60 trolleys and some hundred diesel buses by June this year (nine days to go) with selling the harbour bridge and the Trevi Fountain.

If our modern trolley fleet does cease running on October 31 (a contract was let ages ago to rip the near-new K&M overhead system down on November 1) they will be replaced with second-hand diesels from Auckland, where NZ Bus has also lost many routes.
