Thanks for the more recent photo, Mal. I left Melbourne in 1971, so I didn't realise that the kerbside terminus had been ripped out and replaced by the crossover in the connecting track. I have made a few flying visits to Melbourne since, covering the obvious changes (Box Hill, Vermont, Bundoora, Docklands, the Batman Avenue replacement)) plus a few of the more Sydneyesque track layouts (St Vincents Plaza, Melbourne University terminus, Domain Interchange 2008 version), but I haven't been everywhere.
