Gday Noel, All

Some later M&MTB W5 had RC1 remote control, which the RC2 is based on.
The 1st RC1 cars had "Panhandle" master controllers, 822 823 at Camberwell
had them according to a reliable old driver.

the Panhandle controller had the handle sticking out of the RH side of a
housing on to of the controller and was worked fore and aft instead of
an anticlockwise arc

I have never seen a pic or dwg of one, so if any one has one, please post

The RC2 control is a pinch of the RC1, the difference is that the RC1
has the split reverse barrel like the Clyde,EE Q2CK1 and EE Q2K5 as used
in Sydney and Brissy, which allows series-parallel control on 2 motors
and 3rd emerg

The RC2 has much the same notching gear but a K35 type reverse barrel
which is on 2 motors is just parallel

Cheers, Mick, who missed out on driving Dick Kerr 439 by 2 weeks

The former SPER ballast tamper had one of these Westinghouse controllers. I have one for model tramway use as well as a PC5 controller and a GE controller [C71G ?].
