8.17 Inbound route 67 trams have been delayed because of a tram fault.
8.23, normal again.
Just yesterday morning, a woman sustained serious leg injuries when she
slipped from a tram as she disembarked and got her leg wedged between the
platform and the tram step.
Rescue crews from Yarra Trams and the MFB used specialist equipment to lift
the tram and free the woman. It took just over an hour release the woman
and place the tram back on the tracks.
The incident occurred on Commercial Road outside the Alfred Hospital in
Prahran about 7.40am. Fittingly, staff from the Alfred helped care for the
woman.
On this day in 2005, the Airbus A380 made its first successful flight in
Toulouse, France, after eight years of development. The $339 million
aircraft flew above the French countryside for about four hours before
landing successfully.
