RE: Melb train station closed due to flooding | Gold Coast Bulletin

Thanks Yuri,

In Melbourne at low points on roadways and under bridges where trams
operate, is there a specified depth of floodwater above which trams are
prohibited from running ?

Are there roadside depth markers for guidance of tram crews ?

On the NSW tramways there were water depth markers on span poles to indicate
the maximum safe depth for trams to proceed. Sections prone to flooding were
on the old single line from Botany to La Perouse and at Lambton [Newcastle]
where the Wallsend tramway passed under a colliery railway.
