Pending Richard's reply, I recall that the two types were always kept
separated at Waverley Depot, and the Westinghouse cars were kept
semi-permanently coupled and restricted to broken shift working (hence
the B on the windscreens).
However the "last coupled set of P cars" tours in October 1960 used
1493 and 1707, which would seem to have been a "mixed" set.
IIRC one of the prototype Ps had GE gear, the other Westinghouse, but
neither had MU capability.

Hi Richard,
Could the last group of Sydney P cars with Westinghouse control be
coupled and worked with the majority which had GE PC5 control ?

For further understanding of GE P C control here is a 1926
brochure.
This should clarify the application and operation of each
controller type.
