In one of the early NSW tram books, there was one of my photographs of a fifty seat N class tram (No 617 I think) at the Ascot Racecourse loops.
At that time, it was operating a shuttle service for airport personnel from the main Botany Road tram route. The Ascot tramway crossed the Botany railway at Lords Road level crossing. Sydney Airport was far smaller in the late forties.

Yes I think anybody who is interested in electric traction should be interested in that. There may be some compliance and other technical issues to overcome, but if it was on private property it should be possible. I understand it is stored undercover somewhere in Sydney.
If anybody wants to try a full-size 12 metre electric bus in Sydney you can discreetly board the Blue Emu long-term carpark buses at the Qantas or Virgin domestic terminals and ride it to and through the carpark and back. I suggest you get off in the carpark and catch the next bus for discretion. It's free and they run every 10 minutes or so - if they don't bunch and even then you can see where they are on the electronic display at the stop. You can board at any of the three doors.

I know Roy Leembruggen quite well through his church membership of Wesley Mission and of the Hornsby Baptist Church. Doreen and I were married at Wesley Mission [then Central Methodist Mission]. We are now members of Hornsby Baptist Church.
Roy lived in Hornsby for many years and is now living at a retirement village. He is still enthusiastic about battery electric traction. He considers that the Townobile bus could operate again after some lubrication and attention to batteries and tires.
Several years ago I suggested that the STM might make use of the Townobile bus for trial , considering that the double deck ex Kogarah trolley bus No. 19 is a non-mobile exhibit but there was no interest expressed.
