The concrete track support slabs were previously laid across both directions of Napper Road in recent weekends. This is where the line leaves Smith St and turns north beside the QR rail line. It is one of only 2 road crossings on the entire extension.
There has been however quite a bit of rain over the last two weeks with little time to for the ground to dry out between wet days. Consequently there has been next to no earthworks taking place.
It was probably this job that was postponed from last weekend due to expected rain and even this weekend could have some very light rain but having lost nearly 2 weeks, I guess they are keen to keep going.
