Thanks Brian,

I see that:
"The E2-class design enhancement has improved functionality by increasing driver visibility in crucial areas. Visibility has been achieved through the driver side windows and at the front of the tram through wider side windows, thinner and more vertical A-pillars and lower console equipment. Glare has been reduced by modifying the glass curves, interior material, colours and back-window tinting."

So it's more than just narrower pillars - the shape of the front is flatter (visible in the sightline pictures) and the driver console is lower.

I also see that:
"The enhancements will be implemented on current and future orders, of which there may be up to 80 under the initial contract with PTV."

I assume this refers to the option for up to 150 - of which 50 have been ordered and delivered as Es, a further 20 as E2s - leaving 80 more under the original contract.

Mal Rowe - who found that there are several pages in the Good Design web presentation that only show up if you click the arrows.
