Thanks, yes I recall now there is one flying junction heading east, but off the main line. The main line junctions are flat. My track map is well out of date. I once used this junction daily on the short-lived Rivers interurban express between the western suburbs and central coast. It was a convenient "back route" to the junction at Strathfield.

I worked on the Olympic Park line construction job - it’s a flying junction at the north fork, near the former Pippita platform location, and it is also grade separated from the freight line. When the job started the old flat junctions for the Pippita/Abbotoirs line were to be retained, but the volume of freight traffic through the area forced a redesign to include grade separation. The dive for freight trains is quite steep and prone to flooding, despite having floodwater pumps.
