The tram line running into the 'aerodrome' at Essendon was closed in
November 1976 - due to low traffic after most passenger operations had
shifted to Tullamarine.

Trevor Triplow must have been there soon after to get the attached pic
of 399 just after it left the new terminus city bound. The route number
is wrong - 52 short working was way back at the intersection of Keilor
Rd and Mt Alexander Rd - the northern section of which was called Bulla
Rd at the time

The old tram lines running into the airport can be seen in the bitumen
of the road at left - itself in transition from "Lancefield Rd" to part
of the Tullamraine freeway.
