Brisbane tram 99 on tour in Wiliam St in the city
  Stephen Lindburg

Hello again,

Admittedly, the picture quality is rather poor, but here's a picture of
Brisbane Baby Centre Aisle "type B" car 99 on tour, 15 Sept 1968. This was
taken on the short double track siding in William St, next to what is now
the casino. This was another bit of track in Brisbane that was rarely used.
In the heyday of the Brisbane system, special excursion trams used to depart
from here for evening tours of the city. This is the significance of the
destination "Excursion" on Brisbane end destination rolls. When trams were
hired, they always showed "Reserved" on the destination display. They did
not use "Special" in Brisbane.

No. 99 was one of the trams used on the former Edward St - Gregory Tce line.
98 and 99 were built in 1943, but re-using old running gear, probably to
help with heavy wartime traffic. It's quite spartan. 99 is preserved today
at Ferny Grove and runs regularly. I've attached a recent picture taken
there.

Cheers, Stephen Lindburg
